How To Get Rid Of Acne Scars (Here's How I Did It)
(This is my 'before' picture)
My name is Rosey and just like you, I've struggled with acne scars for over 20 years. Every time I got a break out, it always left scars.
It’s only gotten worse as I've become older and everything I’ve bought or tried in the past has done me no justice. I've tried everything - expensive derma visits, professional high-end products, drugstore stuff and even products recommended by friends. Nothing worked.
I was so embarrassed of scars that I’d wear makeup daily just to get my self-esteem back. Someone even called me "pizza planet" for having acne and acne scars all over my face. The condition of my skin has held me back from a lot of things.
But enough is enough.
I've decided that I need to do something about my scars. I did a lot of research as to how and what will get rid of these dark spots and it led me to three potent ingredients - kojic acid, orange and lemon peels.
I wanted to create something simple since my background isn't in chemistry. This led me to soap-making.
As I was learning more and more about the ingredients of skincare products sold in the market, this led me to believe that one of the reasons why I couldn't find a product that would really work well for me is because almost all "dark spot soaps" or acne scar creams out there are full of harmful chemicals - SLS, fragrance, mineral oil, essential oils, you name it.
Armed with my newly-found knowledge, I created my first batch of soap in my kitchen. I waited six weeks for it to cure and then I tried it.
The results?
My acne scars faded within a week. No irritation. No breakouts.
(The photo taken below was a week after I started using the soap.)
It’s surprisingly cleared and dried all my acne and reduced my facial redness.
I received compliments for my skin looking smoother.
My pores are smaller and my face is slowly getting even-toned!
There's one problem though: my skin is dry.
I was actually expecting it since kojic acid can dry the skin (well, I call it micro-exfoliation).
So here I am again searching for a product that can get rid of the dryness but will not cause more acne.
I searched and searched and searched.
I came across several products on Amazon but they all seem too harsh for my skin type (I have sensitive, combination skin).
Then one day, I was browsing on Tiktok and there's this girl who was talking about how 'oiling' your face can help lighten acne scars. I was intrigued.
I've always believed that putting oil on my face would clog it more, which would then contribute to more acne.
So I started doing research.
I came across a site that lists the comedogenic rating of an oil (this means how cloggy the oil could be when applied on your face).
As soon as I found out which oils clog the pores and which ones don't, I ordered my materials.
I wrote down my combinations and tested the all of them. I think I ended up with 29 different combinations overall.
I would always leave it on overnight to see if it would cause any breakouts. Most did but #25 did not.
So what did I do?
I created a routine using the oil with the soap.
My routine:
I did this twice a day.
1. Removed all make-up first using a gentle makeup remover.
2. Lathered and applied the soap all over my face. I left it on for about 15-30 seconds.
3. Applied a small amount of oil on my face (a little was all I needed).
Simple, huh?
The result
The combination of the soap and the oil worked so fast for me and it’s unbelievable. I finally found something that works for my skin.

FYI - Just because the products worked for me doesn't mean it would work for you too. We all have different skin types but as long as you're consistent and patient, you'll see results.
I wish you the best in your clear skin journey and I wish you'll give these products a chance.
